seuss bless hime for talking seuss design and concepts with me when im running on four hours of sleep over the last few days because of thanksgiving and black friday
man…. a theodor geisel/dr seuss biopic has never been done before. EVER! and i do appreciate the fact that one is being made… dont get me wrong i seriously am super excited that people care enough about him to make one. but theyre doing a very artsy cartoony approach to it. and idk… id rather see a gritty very real depiction of the man who preferred the stories in his mind to the things that happened in real life and the man who was uncomfortable in social situations and would rather be alone and make cartoons about how he doesnt understand how society works and the man who had to wear a crazy hat just to gain inspiration sometimes and the man who had to live with the frustration of not being taken seriously as a political artist so he had to find a way to flesh his childrens work into deep statements that meant a lot to him and the man who cheated on his wife and had to live with the guilt of her suicide for the rest of his life and the man who said it was impossible to see his fans because he knew he’d let them down but was still the same man who responded to every single fan letter he got no matter how small the person was
i just want to see him portrayed as the real man he was. flaws, and unromanticized eccentricities. the artist. the person. not just his childrens work.
ye so alright the grinch is always like, “yo the whos make too much NOISE when they celebrate christmas with their singing and their playing and general joy making” and so im all…
what if the reason whos make a ton of noise when celebrating is because making a ton of noise saved their lives during the horton incident and thats something they cherish and are thankful for
gosh i love everyone here but im sorry tumblr is too negative of a place for me to be. i need to stick to this break. please people just…if something makes you mad i really hope you can try to find a happy place in your life. anger hurts. jealousy will kill you. try to find what makes you happy and focus on the good. bad will always exist but do not let bad things define you. be happy people. CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY. thank you
bloodstainedchessboard asked: What did you do about the dog/ porn confusion incident?
my mom claimed her phone broke and i never got a reply. i promise the real life story wasnt as interesting as the tumblr reblogs made it out to be
im going to cry i just accidentally texted my mom really explicit onceler porn instead of a picture of my dog
what do i DO
I AM SO SORRY FOR LAUGHING AS HARD AS I AM
why did your mom say “ok babe thanks”??????
ok thanks to the 100th person who asked this
ask any of my close friends. my mom talks to me like this. believe me if i wanted to ruin my life with a fake post id have done it with something less humiliating than accidental onceler porn

probably not. i know she loves that culture but i really wish she would learn the difference between celebrating and fetishizing and demeaning a culture.
yes the same could be said for a lot of pop stars and even people in general! theres always a fine line between appreciation of a culture that you arent a part of and fetishizing it and to be honest its very difficult for someone outside of that culture to be accepted as appreciating it because there will always be that stigma of, “oh you just think its pretty” but we have to remember that people are generally good and maybe that person really genuinely appreciates that culture and just wants to embrace it. idk i just… try to give people the benefit of the doubt and not look for the negativity
engi-ler asked: Interesting enough, the only people that complained about it were white people and your generic social justice brigade, not realy knowing what it was about.
im sorry idk i didnt see anyone complaining because ive been staying away from tumblr and trying to only focus on positive things. i didnt realize that she hurt anyone with that performance at all. i personally thought it was a beautiful performance and if it hurt anyone again, i doubt it was intended and knowing katy she would openly apologize for it offending anyones feelings
englishjakes replied to your post: …
not to be an ass i know you are a huge fan but she blatantly disregarded what the actual culture was - including east indian and thai things - and based the performance off a really racist opera
no you arent an ass at all!
what im saying is that i dont think she intended it to be offensive when she agreed to it.
i think she wanted to try to celebrate a culture she enjoyed and gosh if she ended up offending that culture thats horrible
but what im saying is that i dont think it was her intention at all. not everyone understands how celebrating a culture that isnt their own might be offensive and sometimes artists do it wrong. but what im saying is that i dont think she meant any malice by it and im sure she wasnt trying to make a statement or degrade anyone on purpose.
engi-ler asked: Did you hear about the the "drama" involving Katy Perry's Geisha Act being "Racist"? white people dressing up as another race's is Racism obviously.
i feel like she was celebrating a culture she appreciates and i didnt see anything about her performance as racist at all.
i can understand why people might see it as racist if she was using it as a platform or degrading it or even demeaning it but she wasnt. and i can also understand people from that culture being offended by seeing a white person using it as an act because that is their culture and it isnt just a stage theme.
but honestly all i saw was an artist embracing a culture she appreciates to express her song in a beautiful way and she didnt mean to be offensive and she did it in a very classy way that i appreciated and enjoyed watching.
again, i am white and not from that culture so im not a fair judge of course. but i didnt find her performance offensive and im sure if it was perceived as offensive that was not what she intended.
artists often want to touch on cultures that might not be their own and i feel if they do it in a respectful way then we should allow them to do that and respect them as artists and people who are appreciating other cultures.
