What is he doing here before he sits down in his chair? Wipe his brow/face? It looks like he wipes his brow with a cloth before throwing it on the table and plopping down in the chair. Either that, or I’d forgotten that he was holding something in the previous scene (besides his pocket watch). In any case, I’d like to think that he was pretty exhausted here. I love how he kind of… pauses in the chair for a second (both here and as he pulls up to look at his model, although the second time was not due to exhaustion; the first may not have been either, but I’d like to think it is). Additionally, I like how most of his office is covered in shadow — even something as simple as choosing a particular time of the day for a scene can have an emotional impact.
Sometimes it’s the very small details that speak the loudest in a scene.
